A's:

  1. Who ARE you?!

Phil. But for more on that, you can look at the "About." page.

  2. How do you make such wonderful comics?

You flatter me. The process is quite simple. I think of a gag, any old gag based on either true events or something equally stupid my mind comes up with. I do rough sketches of the lineart in #2 Bic Mechanical pencil, in the layout I want them to end up for the final phase. Then, if I like what I see (and even sometimes when I don't) I ink the pencils with a .03 Staedtler Pen (Micron tips get screwed up too easily cuz I press harder than normal). Then I erase all the penciling. Next, I touch up anything with the same .03 Staedtler, and then do a thicker, all-encompassing bold outline with a .05 Staedtler. Sometimes there's smaller details I like to work in (like Nick's armhair, or writing/details on small objects), I use a .01 Staedtler. If on the random occasion I use color, I might use some color pencils. Next I use a sharpie to do crazy curvy jaggy panels, because I decided I liked the way they look. Then I scan the lineart into my computer and clean it up with Photoshop 7.0, usually by adjusting the brightness & contrast, then by erasing any overdrawn lines. Finally is the Balloons and text which is just a simple matter of making shapes with selection tools and filling with white, stroking with black, and placing them where they need to be.

    ...

It's not a terribly brilliant method, but I'm still an ametuer so it's excusable.

  3. Are these people real?

Yawp, these characters are based upon myself and all my buddies in my dorm. Liz is a commuter, but I decided she deserved a spot as the cast. Cletus, however, is an original character based on my inner asshole. Every guy has their inner asshole, and ever girl has their inner bitch. Cletus is simply my own, made manifest.

  4. Why are some of your pages showing up as a 404 error?

Simply because they do not exist yet. I am a slacker, so you must be patient.

  5. You suck at drawing.

    That's not a question

  6. OK, fine. WHY do you suck at drawing?

    Next question...

  7. Where did Cletus the Dead Guy come from?

Hell. Seriously though: Cletus is a character I invented a while back when I tried to draw a human skeleton. I liked using him, because he allowed me to get really evil with my humour. The horns came about entirley by accident one day. I just over drew a line, and turned it into a horn. I just decided to keep them around. If you've noticed, his Sternum is shaped like a necktie. I thought it'd be a nice subliminal effect where he tries to seem all classy but he's really just an asshole. And for some reason, he's become everyone's favorite character.

  8. What does the future hold for The Hoojie Crew?

As you can see, my comics simply get better and better visually, at a pace that's almost alarming. As far as the future? I plan on making toons and games once I get Flash. I'm gonna need a bit of schoolin' on that software, first, so I think I might take a class for it next spring. Maybe I might just end up working with this guy I know back home who already knows flash. My goal is really to just keep doing the comics and the site in a way that I'm good and satisfied with. I would REALLY like to have fans, but that's no longer my priority. It was a foolish one at that. But now that I think of it more, I really just want as many people to read my stuff as possible.

  9. Will there be Hoojie Crew merchandise?

Further down the line, there shall. As it stands, there isn't much demand for T-Shirts or Posters or whatnot. But, if demand rises, I will supply.

  10. Can you add more girls to the comic?

    We'll see.

  11. Can I be in your comic?

Probably not. The Cast is typically reserved for the people who inspire me. If you're some guy who just wants to be in the comic and I have no idea who you are, then the answer is a resounding "No."

  12. Can I draw you some fanart/a guest comic?

Absodamnedlutely. I positively love recieving fanart and guest comics, and now I can post them as soon as I am able to. Send any fanart or guestcomics to phil@biscuitpress.com.
